The characters of both books "Kitchen" and "Chronicle of a Death Foretold" suffered some consequences after the death had occurred. Both of them had to change their houses and moved out. Mikage moved out of his house after the death of her grandmother, as this house seemed too big and empty for her. The main characters of the book "Chronicle of a Death Foretold", Vicario family moved to another town after the death of Santiago, as Colonel Aponte wanted them to protect them from any anger that other people could have towards this family.
As a consequence of death they had to leave the town quietly in light of all the disagreement and trouble, which way be caused. Because of all the disgrace the family never returned. Even though Mikage decided to move out herself, Vicario was forced to move out, both characters tried to escape from the past and leave everything behind them. This is very important because to get back to a normal life after the death of someone, one have to leave everything behind and start new life. The person should be very brave to find enough forces and leave everything that is bad and painful behind. So, Mikage ("Kitchen") and Vicario family ("Chronicle of a Death Foretold") can be regarded as very brave, as they decided to turn that awful page of their lives.
As usual, loneliness follows the death. When person looses someone, he feels the sense of loneliness and emptiness. Loneliness is one of the worst consequences when someone, who is dear and close to you, dies. It is awful to suffer and deal with it alone. Actually, death can evoke a lot of feelings, such as frustration, regret, pain and sometimes can even lead to emotional failure. That moment it is necessary to be very strong and self-possessed.
