The only way to lose love handles is to lose weight. Plain and simple.
What ARE love handles? They are fat. Therefore if you lose weight from your body, you'll lose the love handles.
I suggest instead of trying to get rid of them quickly (which is unlikely to happen anyway) that you give yourself at least a few months. Rushing things like this tends to lead to people not seeing results fast and giving up when it takes more time.
Diet and cardio are the two keys to losing love handles. There is no specific exercise that will target weight loss in that area; you must lose weight end of story.
As far as diet goes, you need to be eating LESS calories per day than you burn. A good way of doing this is to subtract 500 calories from what you're currently consuming. So if you are currently eating 3000 calories a day your new diet will be 2500 calories a day. This is because 3500 calories = 1 pound of fat, so over 7 days 500 less calories = 3500 less calories. Therefore 1 pound of fat will be lost.
Cardio will also burn calories and keep you in shape. Don't start thinking if you do cardio for 10 + hours everyday you'll reach your goals quicker, because 30 - 45 minutes 3 - 4 days a week will do. Excessive cardio will only hurt you by burning you out.
Doing the above will result in weight loss and with weight loss comes love handle loss. No gimmicks, no special foods or special exercises will do it, just hard work on your behalf.
