Wondering if you should get a domain? If you are planning on having a business site, or any kind of site that deals with the public, then the answer is YES. Unfortunately, in almost all cases, no one will trust your company if you are using a sub domain as your main page. It will be harder to market your site, and you will receive fewer visitors from search engines and links.

However, there are a few situations in which using a sub-domain would be alright. If you're just making a web site for fun, then it would be acceptable to use a sub-domain. Or if you just want to host your pictures online, sub-domains will work.

In the end, the decision is up to you. But, if you have already paid for a hosting plan, then there's really no point in not spending that extra money to have a real domain.
