Myspace should give mall credit?
I spend a lot of time on my Make money online website. So I decided to get away from my computer and spend some free time away from the wife and kids - you know, some me time. So I decided to take a stroll thru the Mall in the middle of the day. I knew that at this time of day on a week day - the mall would be pretty much empty.
What I found thou was very interesting.
As I walked along the rows of stores and shops I notice something very interesting - most of all the shop attendees were on their lap tops and online. As I strolled along in wonder - I decided to count, 1, 2, 4, 5, 8, 10, and more laps tops sitting on shop counters with very bored store shop attendees playing online.
Then I thought about the hundreds if not thousands of workers who have too much time on their hands. I remember when I was a young man working in Manhattan N.Y. in a Fayva shoe store. I sure could've used a laptop and myspace those countless boring hours I wasted waiting for the rush hour crowd to come in. Not that I was dodging my work - but after everything was done - We [ even the manager ] would simply hangout in the store waiting for the lunch time crowd to come in. We got very good at "looking like" we were working.
What does this have to do with anything?
Well, when considering your online business or website. You might want to consider making your website a little more interactive, fun, or interesting. Why, because there are thousands of eye's sitting in their booths, or at their desk, even hanging out in the stock room looking for something interesting to do online.
I always wondered why "online game" websites with lousy games [ compared to PSP, Xbox, and such ] do so well. It's probably because even if the quality of the games are horrible - they still help these people pass the slow moving hand of time at work.
If your thinking of creating a monetized website or just a page at Myspace, think about making it more engaging, fun, interesting, try to capture your visitors. Make it that your visitors will want to return because you give them something they can't find at work - enjoyment!
