If you have one or more websites and you're not getting much or any traffic to them, you're not going to be making any profits from them. People need to KNOW about them. Having said that, it's not just a case of getting traffic - you need targeted traffic. You need visitors who are already interested in your site's topic and who are more likely to benefit from your site's content or products.
That's easy enough to say but just how do you generate traffic to your sites? To discover the solution to this problem here are some useful tips.
1. Articles
Write articles of between 300-500 words and submit to articles sites. Obviously the more you do the better, but aim for at least one a week. The type of articles to write are ones that create interest, such as:
a. Article that creates a problem and then provides a solution.
b. Article that tells a story.
These article sites are indexed on a regular basis. Include your link at the end. Your articles can also be used by others, so the more your articles are used the more your links are passed round. They will get used in websites. Some examples are www.ezinearticles.com and www.goarticles.com and I also use many others. There are many places to submit articles, just Google "free articles" and you
will get millions of links.
2. Link Directories
Get your site related to link directories of a high page rank, (to find out the page rank of a site download the Google tool bar) by doing this you will have links to high page rank sites which will boost the page ranking of your web site and ultimately create more traffic. You can also buy text links to a high page rank site on e-Bay, just do a search for "Page Rank Text Links" Also try
www.textlinkbrokers.com for more information. Directories and text links do cost money but are all worth it for the amounts of traffic you will gain.
3. Forums
There are many forums that you can join. When you make a post you can acquire links to your site in your signature. Don't submit to forums purely to advertise your site though. Get involved, help others as well. Each time you reply to a post include your signature, with your link. Read the rules of each forum before you start. I personally use www.warriorforum.com They also have a section for submitting and obtaining free ebooks. Get involved on a weekly basis at least, if
possible.
4. Ping and Blog
Create a blog or two on various blog websites, use a search engine and look for blog websites and sign up for a couple. Google's blog site is called www.blogger.com By doing so it allows the search engine robots to spider fresh content in the form of your blog. After your blog is created use a ping to inform the search engines that the content of your blog has changed, use www.pingomatic.com to ping your blog sites.
5. Newsletter
If you have a newsletter that is e-mailed you should also be writing articles there that link to your website. It's a good idea to also archive your articles on your website so they can be read over and over again. This also increases the chance of another publisher picking up your article for use on their own site.
The best part is that once you have pushed it in the beginning you will continue attracting free traffic for your entire life and the traffic will increase each and every month due to its viral nature.
You will get lifetime traffic, affiliates, customers, leads and above all cash in your bank account. That's what we all are waiting for. ALL FOR FREE.
There are probably hundreds of ways to get more traffic, however I hope my tips have been a help. The most important part is that you have to get started today.
Don't just plan it - DO IT to pull in busloads of free non-stop traffic to your site in future and don't give up!
