Travel: Marunouchi Brick Square Tokyo – the haven for delightful Japanese cuisine

(Thu May 19th, 2011, by Pushpitha Wijesinghe)

Situated on the south east of Honshu, the main island of Japan lies Tokyo, a prefecture of Japan and officially a metropolis which was formed in 1943. This business hub is the capital of Japan and has a seat in the Imperial Palace and the Japanese government. Among the variety of stunning tourist attractions that are scattered across the busy metropolis Tokyo offers a vibrant holiday to be shared with friends or family.

Located between the Imperial Palace and the Tokyo Station is Marunouchi, a commercial district of Tokyo. Its name reflects its locality, in the center of the palace's moat. Known to be the financial hub of Japan, it is now blended with an intriguing array of international restaurants and shopping centers that attract international visitors who enjoy hours of spending time strolling down the streets of this commercial center.

Like the social and political changes that have gradually transformed in Japan, its local cuisines have also followed cue, significantly reflecting the influence of Western culture. Japanese cuisine is noted for its presentation, seasoning of food and the quality of its ingredients used with its variety of spices and authentic herbs that are carefully added to bring out the signature flavour of Japanese gastronomy.

Introducing extravagant nightlife and shopping destinations, the Marunouchi Brick Square morphed Marunouchi's business district from the smoke-filled yakitori joints and corporate buildings to a thrilling destination. Popularly known as the MBS, it features many retail shops and bars that are spread along the central Naka Dori streets. New branches of restaurants and local eateries are sprawled across the streets for visitors to enjoy local cuisine and exotic dishes from sushi and beef tongue to noodles and soups.

A luxury hotel Tokyo will prove to be the ideal accommodation for the discerning international traveller. Of the many luxurious hotels around the vicinity, The Peninsula Tokyo stands out the most, offering the visitor a comfortable stay. This Tokyo hotel offers great service and impeccable hospitality. Serving an array of succulent cuisine and breathtaking views, it is known for its high standards of service and meticulous attention to detail.
