SIP phone allows an individual to make similar calls to telephone calls, but here they use an Internet connection to make calls using VoIP technology. SIP phone is nothing but the SIP user agent, which allows consumers to make traditional calls, just like a phone. SIP phone allows people to dial, answer calls, reject, put a call on hold or transfer it allows the individual to perform all the functions that are possible in a normal cell phone or telephone traditional.

SIP includes drawings similar elements exist in the transaction model that has a HTTP request and response. SIP enables peer interaction, which is the main reason the network, requiring SIP must be simple with distributed intelligence at the network perimeter and endpoints. There are many other protocols outside of SIP, however, SIP has gained popularity because of its roots deeper into the Internet connectivity rather than telecommunications.

SIP server is the core of the network that allows communication between two SIP endpoints. SIP server does not allow the initiation and termination, it is not responsible for the transfer call audio. SIP servers may take up to three different forms that each have their respective responsibilities to fulfill. The three services are SIP Proxy server, Redirect and Registrar servers that can be used as needed by the user.

SIP is used primarily to establish special sessions including the communication of multimedia such as video calls or voice over Internet protocol (IP). One session here may mean something like a simple phone call or can also be a conference session SIP was chosen as the best choice because it follows exactly the philosophy stated by the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force), which states that the protocol should indicate what is necessary to clarify.

SIP protocol is almost similar to the already existing HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol).

SIP protocol designs comprises of similar elements existing in HTTP transaction model which has a request and response. SIP protocol allows peer to peer interaction, which is the main reason that the network involving SIP has to be simple with intelligence distributed to the network edge and some endpoints. There are many other protocols apart from SIP protocol however SIP protocol has gained popularity because of its deeper roots into the internet connectivity rather than telecommunications.
