An interview by Tatame with Andre Galvao revealed that Galvao, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion, is working with "The Axe Murderer" Wanderlei Silva (31-7-1) on his ground technique. Wanderlei Silva is already a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, but it looks like he wants to start rounding out his game a little more. His vicious knockouts are what he's known for, but maybe we'll see him submit Chuck Liddell at UFC 79 (20-5-0).
Rumors have been swirling that this Saturday will be the official announcement of the UFC 79 showdown in December between Liddell & Silva. Of course we have all seen this before, and people will be skeptical until a contract for the fight is signed and their pictures are on the event poster.
Galvao told Tatame, "everything that's wrong will be corrected and what needs to be increased will be increased. Wanderlei is black-belt in Jiu-Jitsu, he has his own style and positions he likes to do, but I can improve this."
We'll find out in a couple months how Wanderlei Silva has improved since the last time we saw him.
