Michael Bisping's reaction to the question of whether or not he thought he won the fight by a reporter at the UFC 75 post-fight press conference solicited the response "of course, don't insult me like that," which caused many to call him classless and arrogant in light of the fact that many that watched it believed Matt Hamill won easily. In response to the MMA community, Bisping posted a message on his website about the way he reacted after the fight was over giving an explanation of what put him over the "edge".
Bisping said that his father was in danger by a group of kids that were harassing him in the O2 parking lot, and he was frantically trying to find his father in the parking lot in order to help him out. Unfortunately Bisping was told to attend the post-fight press conference and that his manager would locate his father and report back to Bisping.
On his website (Bisping.tv) there's a header conveniently titled "the press conference" he posted the following:
"Shotly after I showered after all the fights had finished, my manager calls my dad to see how he is doing and he tells me that my dad is on the venue car park srrounded by some young lads picking a fight with him. I listen to the phone and hear screaming and I am told he is surrounded and they are spitting on him and it sounds as if its about to turn nasty. I ask my dad where he is and he tells me car park 1. I tell him Im on my way and my manager and me quickly try to run to his defence. After 10 minutes I have still not found my way out on to the car park as Im still running around like a headless chicken in the maze that is the 02 arena. When I finally get outside Im informed Im on the wrong car park by a security gaurd on a motorbike and car park 1 is on the other side of the building. I initially start to run and the gaurd tells me its to far and tells me to jump on the back of his bike. What seemed like alot longer but was probably only about 2 minutes we come to a barrier and the gaurd says we cant get through that way. My manager who has been following in his car tells me I need to get to the press conference and he will take care of it. I get off the bike and run there as quickly as possible."
