In February 2007, there were 90 billions spams sent per day and this number is increasing everyday. What is a spam email?

Spam email is a bulk emails or junk emails and the sender sent it to numerous recipients without their permission.

I think many of us get this type of emails everyday. It's really annoying and no one likes it. Deleting it doesn't mean that we have solved the problem. It will keep coming everyday.

But, there are ways on how you can get rid of spam and prevent spam emails from coming.

1. Use 'Fake' Email Address

There are many temporary email address services available on the Internet, what you should do is just google it and you'll find a lot of website offering temporary email services. So, if you want to give away your email address for only temporary purpose, I suggest you to use the temporary email address service.

The email address sometimes only available for only 5 minutes before it cannot be used and during that time, you can use that email address for any purpose that you like. Therefore you will not reveal your 'real' email address. Only reveal your 'real' email address to someone that you trust.

2. The Unsubscribe Link

If there is a link inside that email saying 'Click here to unsubscribe', don't click it! I've done this before and guess what? The spam emails keep coming, even more than before.

Why?

If you unsubscribe from the unsubscribe link, they will mark your email as responsive because you've actually read it, therefore, they can sell your email address at a higher price.

3. Use Email Filtering Software

Email filtering can help to protect your email from spam. If you're serious about fighting spam, I suggest you to buy spam blocker software.

4. Type Your Email Differently.

If you have to reveal your email in an open website, I suggest you to type it differently. Instead of writing abcd@xyz.com, type it as abcd [at] xyz.com. It can help you dealing with spam bots and spam spiders. Even though real people will immediately know your email address, but it will give some trouble to the spam bots or spam spider.
