The story "Fiela's Child" is about the boy, who appeared in the family of his real parents after nine years spent in the black family. The climax of the story can be seen as Benjamin is young and at this early age he appeared in the family of people, who are strange for him and he has to accept them as his family.
After several years the readers see Benjamin as the adult already. He is big enough to start his own life and business. His sister Nina lives not far from him. They began to build up very strong relationships, despite the fact that earlier Benjamin did not realize her to be his relative. The most interesting thing is that he began to fall in love with her, though realizing that it is impossible, as she is his sister. A bit later Benjamin received the letter, informing about the death of his brother from the black family. Without waiting he went to Kloof where he is accepted very well. He told his former mother about his feelings to Nina and asked whether he was real Rooyen, but she advised to address his parents and ask everything. Came back hone, Benjamin knew that he was not real son of Barta and Elias van Rooyen; everything became clear why he had so strong feelings to Nina, as she was not his sister at all. So, the boy made up his mind to leave his family and find Nina in order to make a family with her.
Reading about life of this hero, one can say that he is very strong and self-possessed person and his dominant trait is mental strength, which helped him to live in hostile family. Despite of his early age and absence of any close person, he could bear the changing of the family and preserve positive views. He did not let the situation to ruin him and his life, though being extremely weak in new surrounding.
