The history of the federal law of the United States can be traced back to times when America became one of the English colonies. Evolution of federal law can began with Roman social law (1100 A.D.) together with Magna Carta (1215). This study analyzes the starting points of the federal law and societal matters of colonial rule which were the origins of configuration of U.S. federal law. The paper also includes the original legislative acts in particular Articles of Confederation, Amendments to the Constitution, and U.S. Constitution itself. Paper then emphasizes the role of significant Supreme Court cases to conclude the ways that federal law is understood in by the court branch.
