When you graduated from high school, did you get that feeling that you wished to come back as high school students? Are there things that you haven't achieved in high school that you wanted to reach? Well, this is your last chance. For graduating college students, here are some tips you might want to consider:
Learn your lessons well. Cramming leads you to no good. The things you remember through cramming will only be stored temporarily, meaning that as soon as a quiz is done, the things you studied are gone. When you study them little by little, things won't be jumbled up, and you'll remember and learn more things when you get to the finals. Take note: remembering is different from learning. You may not have learned something from what you have just remembered.
Do your assignments and projects on your own. These annoying activities are actually made for a reason. When you do your assignments and projects, it helps you remember the lesson you have recently studied, or give you a forecast on what the teacher will tackle. It's not bad to ask help from your classmates especially when you're lost and don't know how to do it; but if it becomes a habit, it destroys your process of learning.
Join a club. Some colleges make you an automatic member of their organization in your sophomore or junior year. However, there are extra and co-curricular activities you can also join. Not only does it increase your social life, but also your experience.
Make new friends, and keep your original ones. It's a fact that you will meet more people coming from different schools and provinces. Take that as an opportunity to get acquainted with more people. Who knows, you might even have your first boyfriend or girlfriend in college. For sure, one day when you're out of the college life, the friendship you have will be something you will treasure.
Speak out. Let your voice be heard, by your club, by the entire student body. Participate in the elections. Know where the money you pay really goes. Be attentive to the discussions. These are ways to avoid the what-could-have-been's. You will learn philosophies, religions and moral values in class; it's up to you if you practice them or not.
Give out your best. Not everything has a second chance. So while you still have it, give it all you've got. It's better to fail saying that you did your best, than to never have tried at all. Always have the end in mind and it will keep you on track.
Have fun! Of course, it's self-explanatory. We all have our ways of having fun; just remember that life happens only once, so make the most out of it.
