Parents may feel responsible for the child's death, no matter how irrational that may seem. Every day people face the loss of a loved one. Sometimes it's these stories that make us stop and think.

Coping with death is never easy but it is immeasurably more difficult to handle the death of a child, life will never be the same again and it can be difficult to even understand that the world continues for other people. One important skill for coping with death is knowing what to say when someone is struggling with dying.

Consider sending a letter of encouragement to someone coping with death and you will most likely bring a smile to the person's face. Essentially everyone who has lost a loved one needs as much support. The key to coping with death and healing from grief is to learn to accept all the common losses in life. Unfortunately, this is not taught in the home or school. Often, a poem or song will speak to us in ways that no one else can.
