Know Need
The sixties pop group, The Hollies, sang, "Sometimes, all I need is the air that I breath and to love you."
What do you need? Oxygen, water, sleep and the obligatory nine portions of fruit and vegetables per day? Yes. But what else do you - the person reading these words - really need?
Beyond the basics, what are your real needs? Do you need to lead, achieve, build, create, organize, teach, preach, write....? Do you have a need for honesty, truth, love, spirituality, physical vitality, intellectual stimulation...?
Needs are not shoulds, coulds, or wants. A need, needs to be satisfied, otherwise it will keep on gnawing away at you. And so long as that need exists, you will always have an empty, unfulfilled, dissatisfied, space, deep down inside.
Identify your needs by making a list of all the things you think you really need, to be you. Now imagine that you were offered cash for each one of those needs. Which are you prepared to sell?
Look at what's left: Those are the needs that you need to address. Needs that even money couldn't buy from you.
So, what are your going to do today to satisfy those needs?
