Self Help: How to Gain Height Naturally

There are different type of lifestyle changes you can pursue to make yourself grow taller. Things as simple as eating the right foods and avoiding or eliminating the wrong foods from your diet can start to increase height almost at once. Along with exercise and rest, holding a strong posture is another easy and best way to increase your height. Continue reading to know the tips to grow tall.

The proper diet is essential in helping the body grow taller. Lack of the right nutrients impact the body's ability to function in good order, and will really lead to weight loss and lack of vitamin. Incorporate lean proteins into your diet as far as possible, as these contain amino acids that help the body grow. Foods that are high in protein include eggs, beef, fish, milk, chicken, legumes and nuts. Avoid carbohydrates such as bread and rice as far as possible, along with caffeinated items including coffee, soft drinks and chocolate. Calcium is another essential nutrient that the body needs to grow and keep bones strong. Increase your daily intake of dairy products such as cheese, skim milk and yogurt. Avoid excess alcohol and cigarettes since they can lead to a stunted growth.

Stretching exercises can easily make you taller, adding a lasting two to three inches to your overall body height. Do stretches and muscle strengthening that target the back and spinal column. As these muscles build, the back and spine become stretched, creating extra height. Incorporate yoga and pilates into your daily routine, doing at least fifteen to twenty minutes of these exercises everyday. These exercises stretch all parts of the body, and focus particularly on strengthening the core. Also do muscle building exercises for the back and upper body, such as pull-ups, push-ups, press-ups and sit-ups. This will tighten the core, add muscle mass to the back and upper body, and create a lean, stretched look.

The human body needs an average of eight to ten hours of sleep each night. As you rest, your body is re-energized, and repairs any damages. This is the prime time for the body to grow and refill itself. The proper amount of rest will also give you an energy boost, allowing you to stick to a exercise routine faithfully.

Holding the proper posture can make you appear two to three inches taller. When slumped, the back is humped, making your spine looks shorter, and your overall height seem shorter than it actually is.
