The sunday school lesson seems to me to be fitting for this season -- I am looking at the spiritual side. The only reason why I am sharing this at this website to read for I thought it was too long to place in my newsletter -- and I wanted to share the link in my newsletter if they decided to read it. Acts 2:11 -- Day of Pentecost --- Cretes & Arabians we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God. Genesis 21:11-13 --- God told Abraham that he would bless Hagar's son (the bondwoman) And also of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed (Hagar's son "Ishmael") Let's look at Abraham -- A man of faith, Believed in God, Lineage, Race, Father, Founder: Jewish, Arabs & Christians. Genesis 15:5-6, 18:1-15; 21:1-8 verse 5 - And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them; .......and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. (Hebrews 6:14 - reference scripture) THE HEBREWS verse 6 - he believed in the LORD, "he" - Abraham MAN REDEEMED, Justification, Faith The Instrumental Cause (Galatians 3:6; 5:5; James 2:23) Genesis 18:11-14 verse 11 - 13 ------ THE FAMILY, Parents & Children, Barrenness, Miraculously Removed verse 11 -- Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. verse 12 -- Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, "my lord" being old also? "my lord" - Abraham Did Sarah think that since she was passed child bearing years that the Lord had made a mistake? verse 13 -- the Lord said unto Abraham, Where fore did Sarah laugh saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old? God knows what we are thinking whether we say it out loud or not...God knows everything... verse 14 -- Is anything to hard for the LORD? At the ..... time appointed..... I will return unto thee MIRACLES, Miracles Considered, Miracles Foretold Genesis 16:1-6 Other Nations, Offshoots of the Abrahamic Stock, Ishmaelities Sarai being barren giveth Hagar (Egyptian) to Abram Genesis 21:1-8 verse 1,2,5,6,7 --- Miracles, SuperNatural Bodily Gifts, Gift of Children (Jesus Christ human birth was/is a MIRACLE -- Matthew 1:18-21, 24, 25 & Luke 1:26-31, 34, 35, 38, 42) The LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken. GOD KEEPS HIS PROMISES...HIS WORD IS TRUE...GOD ONLY HAVE TO SPEAK... Sarah conceived and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the... set time....of which God had spoken to him. KEY WORD -- set time, GOD TIMETABLE IS NOT LIKE my timetable, GOD IS THE MAKER OF TIME, ETERNAL, ETERNITY Abraham was 100 years old, when his son Issac was born Sarah said God hath made me to laugh, all that hear will laugh with me. "JOY" -- if anyone have ever had a baby when you get your very first look at your child that is a feeling that words can not explain. verse 3 -- THE FAMILY, Parents and Children, Naming at Birth Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Issac (In the Bible, and at one time and maybe still now names did have a significant meaning) verse 8 -- THE FAMILY, Parents and Children, Care of Infants Nursing the child grew, Abraham made a great feast the same day that Issac was weaned. verse 4 -- Sacred Rites & Forms, Circumcision, Applied by Abraham Abraham circumcised his son Issac being 8 days old, as God had commanded him.
