Verses 1, 2, 3 --- Civil & Social Life, Manners & Customs, Salutations, Meetings
And Jacob lifted up his eyes, & looked, & behold Esau came, & with him 400 men. And he divided the children unto Leah, & unto Rachel, & unto the two handmaids.
And he put the handmaids & their children foremost, & Leah & her children after, & Rachel & Joseph hindermost.
And he passed over before them, & bowed himself to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother.
Question -- Food For Thought? Had a genuine, sincere forgiveness taken place before this meeting with Jacob & Esau? Now remember 20 years had passed since Jacob had to flee from home. Why was Esau coming to meet his brother with 400 men? Did Jacob divide his family for safety - security reasons? God was in this plan that is why things did not get out of hand.
"7" -- completion
Real Life 101 -- All handshakes - hugs - kiss are not sincere & genuine. Only when true, sincere forgiveness has taken place can healing and restoration occur and this does make a peacefully meeting.

And he said, What meansest thou by all this drove which I met? And he said, These are to find grace in the sight of my lord.

And Jacob said, Nay, I pray thee, if now I have found grace in thy sight, then receive my present at my hand: for therefore I have seen thy face, as though I had seen the face of God, & thou wast pleased with me. And he urged him, & he took it. Take I pray thee, my blessing that is brought to thee; because God halt dealt graciously with me, & because I have enough.
