Yes we do see through a glass dimly, darkly, or barely. For many the glasses through which we see the world is so shattered and full of cracks that it's difficult to make out or describe what it is we see. Look (no pun intended), no matter what the intensity of the light is that you pass through a red glass, the effect will forever and always be the same- everything will take the nature and color of the glass- RED! Who prescribed the glasses that you are wearing? Are they 20-20, 20-40 or 40-30? Everyone of us have a set or prescription glasses that come from various doctors. Those doctors have been our parents, teachers, friends, but most of all we acquired the glasses that we see the world from the geographical environment in which we were reared. Being born in the Midwest and raised both there an in what's known as the Bible belt determines much of how I see the world. The fact that I've travelled extensively and been to over 40 coutnries around the world has altered that foundation! The fact that I've overcome my bias, fears, and prejudices enough to read authors whose glasses were much different than mine has allowed for the color of my worldview to changed my world viewed. Sadly, I've learned that no matter what light you try to pass through the fundamental mind of John Doe, the results will always be the limitations and color of John Doe's glasses. A person who is unteachable brings despair to not only their life but others as well. It was simply impossible for the Pharisees to accept the world as Jesus saw it. Their kingdom was a natural one and any deviation was anathema. Continued differences with their views got Jesus killed. Little has changed today. Be careful when attempting to shed some new light on a deeply ingrained religious topic. Being shunned will be the leser of evils. :-( When entering a religious environment, best check your glasses at the door.
