Americans delight in reading and talking about how our ragtag army drove the bloody imperialistic British out of the Colonies. It is funny how we seldom mention the help the French gave us unless of course we feel it would needlessly dilute our glory. Ask most Americans and they will say if it were not for us, the British would be speaking German. The truth is if it had not been for a handful of British Bulldogs and the French underground, who took the fight to the Nazi's, giving the world time to wake up, we might all be fluent in German. I can not help feeling compassion for the German people. After all these years, it has still got to hurt being reminded about Hitler on a daily basis. I sure hate hearing about the diabolical leadership of George W. Bush, and he is still Prince Charming to millions of mental midgets. Is using the Bush name and leadership in the same sentence an oxymoron?
There are more cowards and bigots in my country, the United States, today than there are fleas. While North Korea holds us hostage with the firing of a few rockets, we flood Iraq with our mighty military to fight a few goat herders. These jet jockeys of ours are given ribbons for firing smart bombs at buildings from thousands of feet up without so much as a gnat to contend with. Heavy armored tanks and personnel carriers rush off across the desert chasing horse drawn carts, worn out cars and trucks. And I will be damned if these goat herders are not taking the war to Bush and his mighty armies.
It makes me want to gag knowing that most Americans, at this late date, still have not figured out that when George W. Bush said, "Mission accomplished" he was talking about his mission, not our military's. And it is ironic that these same brain dead Americans are calling Bush stupid. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was right; the most dangerous thing in the world is sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.
I suspect if the American troops in Iraq knew that the people back home were having office pools for the number of US troops killed each week, and that the larger the number the louder the cheer, they would lay down their weapons and give up. I was told that the pool people believe the KIA totals will hurt Bush. Hurt Bush? How? He is not capable of remorse and has never cared about world opinion. That is the level we are now at. Is there a lower rung on this ladder of unbelievable arrogance and omnipotence, or have we finally reached bottom?
