Real Estate: Why to Consider Buying Real Estate in Meriden, Connecticut

Finding that perfect balance between an urban area and a suburban neighborhood could be tricky while house hunting. This is especially true in an area such as Connecticut that is sometimes known as a suburban haven for families trying to escape the hustle and bustle of bigger cities. One town that has found this balance quite well is Meriden, Connecticut. So when you are hunting for your home, whether it is your first your or your last consider one in Meriden to find the perfect balance between suburban bliss and urban flair.

Meriden was originally a part of the nearby town Wallingford but in the 19th century it incorporated as its own city, named after Meriden, West Midlands, England. Shortly after the city's incorporation it earned the nickname ‘Silver City' due to all of the flatware and related products that were produced there. As time passed Meriden began flourishing in the manufacturing industry and there are still remnants of this industry there today.

Perusing through downtown Meriden you will find an area that feels urban and is pleasant to walk around. A convenient Amtrak train runs through downtown, and while this is not consider a commuter train a New Haven-Hartford-Springfield commuter train is anticipated to be running by 2015 for the ultimate convenience. Meriden is already an excellent town for commuters to reside in, but with the completion of the commuter train it will be even more convenient.

The geography of Meriden is also desirable with the Quinnipiac River running through the southern parts of town which has left a gorge with beautiful sandstone and brownstone cliffs. There are also a variety of parks in the city making it an excellent home for families with children. If you do have children Meriden also offers a variety of schools including public, magnet, and private schools. There are also many points of interest that will appeal to singles, couples, and families alike such as hiking and golfing.

Meriden is home to a great deal of beautiful architecture and they have a wide variety of housing styles to offer for those seeking out real estate. Whether you are looking for a one person condominium or a large family home you will be able to find the right house for you in Meriden, Connecticut.
