Comparing the movie" Mean Girls" and the novel "Walking Naked" the reader can say that in both texts the main characters have the lust for fame and belonging to the crowd. Such kind of girls is always streaming to be in the center of attention. For example, Megan always wants to be the head of any company as well as Cady. In the end it is just a matter of self-consciousness and the desire to be wanted. Both girls finish choosing to stay with the most popular group of people, as there they can feel superior. In this company they feel as better than the others, that is why being in this group means staying on the upper step. These girls are concentrated on gaining acceptance from others. As a result, the people who were their friends are those against whom they discriminate. Both stories tell about issues, that one teenage girl faced in high school and those events are depicted from very like sides.
Bullying is the central theme of both stories. In the stories everyone bullies everyone and some people are bullied by those who more popular. Such girls as Cady and Megan always manipulate the others and everybody try to become their friends as it is very prestigious to be the friend of such girl. Regina and Candice are secretly hated by everyone, but no one shows their real attitude to them. Both girls do not understand that gaining recognition and glory this way they may be rejected by the others. Having power does not mean having respect among the others. Later both heroines will understand it, but it would be too late, as they would lose all their friends. For them the most important thing is to be accepted by the group of those people, for whom they are real queens.
