Most men and women possess the physical skills to achieve success, but a lot lack emotional or cognitive skills. When someone's self esteem increases their emotional IQ or EQ and willingness to make life changes also increases.
Cognitive Restructuring has the ability to go deep. It can assist those who are suffering from these problems: * Sadness * Phobias * Childhood abuse * Anxiety * Lack of goals * Loneliness * Broken relationships * Lack of hope * Fear * Illness * Decision making * Worry * Self betrayal * Depression * Coping * Hate/vengeance * Stress * Self control *Anger * Self esteem * Insecurity * Divorce * Lack of empathy * Suicidal thoughts * Grieving * Co dependency * Drug addiction * Failing grades *Alcohol addiction * Eating disorders
The very first and most vital step to overcoming these problems and the biggest hurdle is self deception. Those who live with self-deception constantly blame other people for their problems. Humans do not understand that the most difficult problem they have in life is the battle with themselves. If you are unhappy and unsuccessful Are you the one to blame? Below are six steps that are a must for self-improvement. No shortcuts exists and they must be done in order. The single most effective tool to aid individuals in leaving the old damaging behaviors is Manualized Cognitive Restructuring . Cognitive restructuring is capable of helping men and women defeat thinking errors and behaviors.
One of the psychological dissimilarities between humans and other mammals is that humans are capable of being self aware. That is to say, they know how to step back from themselves, see and accept they have faults and limitations. With self awareness humans have the ability to improve and change their lives. Improving habits, thoughts, values and behavior isn't easy. For example, if you want to change a hardened criminal into an upright citizen the change has to come from within the criminal. Criminals would have to accept responsibility for their behavior. If they remain in denial they will never change. To be successful with criminals, you must first help them become self-aware. This process is referred to as reality therapy. You cant force people to change but you can force them to be self-aware. Abide by the following steps to make a complete change in your life. There are no shortcuts.
Step #1- AWARENESS Self-awareness is the first step in becoming a better person. It is vital that you accept your weaknesses. Change will not come if you fail to become self-aware.
Step #2- DESIRE If you dont desire to change, you wont. You have agency and, therefore, cannot be forced. You have freedom to choose. It is completely up to you; it is your choice. No desire=no change.
Step #3- ATTITUDE If you are aware that you have weaknesses and want to become better you'll automatically lift your attitude. Again, it's your choice.
Step #4- SKILL Although they are vital, self-awareness, desire and a good attitude aren't enough; developing the skills and knowledge of how to change is also imperative.
Step #5- BEHAVIOR Master steps one through four and you are prepared physically to do what is necessary. Follow them for 90 days and they'll be a habit. Follow them for one year and they will become a part of you.
Step #6- SUBCONCIOUS Once you get a habit into your subconscious, it becomes automatic. You dont even have to think about it; you've changed. Great!
If you keep on doing what you have been doing, you will keep on getting what you have been getting. If you desire to change what you have been getting, you are required to change what you've been doing. The very first step in changing bad habits is to defeat denial, bad scripting and faulty thinking The only way to achieve this is through following the above 6 steps.
