MONEY: IT REAVEALS THE REAL YOU So many scholars have been very brutal in their manner of speech when it comes to money. Others have keyed into the biblical injunction "Money is the root of all evil". This statement has been 'amputated' because the real rendering of that scripture is "the love of money is the root of all evil". From the biblical point of view, we observe men like Abraham been the richest man in his time, Solomon the wisest man in the east and the richest also who was able to embark on one of the greatest projects on ancient and modern architecture- the building of a temple of God. A great spiritual re-awakening in history has been followed by financial resolution. As a matter of fact, world bodies like WHO, UNICEF, FIFA/LEAF AFRICA etc need money to sponsor scholarships, researches, peace treaties, football tournaments and the likes. If money can do all these, what makes it so much of a terror in the hands of others-GREED. Greed can make a man in business to eat his profit. Greed is what makes a man to earn money and desire to have even more at the expense of every other thing even his wife and children. See the cases of those who use their wives or children for money rituals. Others (African leaders in particular) have been known for embezzling public funds. Enriching themselves, throwing an entire country into debt and untold hardship. Is this not what makes Onitsha and Aba men to manufacture fake goods and sell them at the price of the original? no sincerity, no patience all for the mad rush for money. I once watched a film in which a mask was missing from a famous museum. That mask had the power to reveal the true nature of a man. It could also make the man more powerful than his natural self. A very funny, easy-going man found it and wore it. Hmm! he became more funny and stupid. He robbed a bank a man and couldn't do anything useful with the money. At a point in the film, some people short him sporadically but he was not hurt. This mask was stolen from him by a man who needed power at all cost and when he possesed this mask, he became ugly and look very much like a beast. Oh! you needed to see how ugly and dangerous he became. He committed great havoc because he did not believe in anything but himself. Money is like that man. The aim of going into business and you need, among others, (a) Discipline and (b) patience to make all the money you need. You do not have to concentrate primarily on present gains but look at the long term benefits your business can give you. You also need to be committed to what do and pray. If you follow this pattern, you are sure to escape the snare of greed. Now that you know, see you at the top.
