Great niche marketing is about finding a targeted market that is highly profitable to a very limited market that takes action on purchases in the market. All of these customers have characteristics in common. Why not exploit these common characteristics and get this customer base to follow your every word and advice? How can we do this?
Newsletters for niche marketing are great tools to build a following of rabid fans. Most people like to hear what the experts say about the things that they buy. Branding is nothing more than becoming an expert about a certain subject and then having everyone interested in that subject know it.
People in a niche market normally know other people who are in search of the same products or information. Imagine if you sent one newsletter out and this customer forwarded it to 10 of his friends in the same market. Now if you had a 100 people on your list it could grow to 1000 by the next morning and what if those 1000 forwarded it to 10 more, you would have 10,000 people knowing that you are the expert to turn to in this particular market. What business wouldn't want 10,000 loyal rabid customers just waiting on your next word?
Now building this newsletter will not be easy and it will take constant work. Remember though that every time that you send it out you could grow your following by ten-fold. How much paid advertising you have to spend to do that? How long and how many hours would you have to work to create the money to buy the advertising? See it really will not be that much work.
Once you have a basic format for your newsletter stick to it for a period of time. Do not change it every week because your customers will begin to think that you have to reinvent yourself every time you make a statement.
Research topics that are relevant to your market today and learn to guess what will be relevant tomorrow so that you can become a rainmaker. Answering one of your customer's questions before you answer it will draw them to every word that you right. Don't worry about being wrong because sometimes you will. Just admit when it happens and move on. When was the last time the entire world gave up on all of the weather men at once? Same way with what you will have to say.
Get you fan base to interact with your newsletter. If they post something on it, they will tell their friends to go look at their comments. Praise the great comments and do not be afraid of creating a little controversy. Let your readers know that you will be playing devil's advocate at times just to get their input.
When people follow you regularly they will heed your advice. When you suggest a product or a service, they will want to try it out. Do not hype every product that comes down the World Wide Web instead only hype the products that you truly believe in. Give the first testimonial for your review. Let them know that you use it. If you recommend a product that you don't use have a credible first testimonial from a well know friend or poster on the newsletter.
