In line with the concepts that I teach on my website at positive relaxation, I feel I need to expand on the requirement to always be working to better ourselves, and be working on our mindset.
I am constantly listening to personal development materials (like CD's when I am in the car, or travelling by train, as an example), and always working to improve myself.
Now, it is not an uncommon concept for people to listen to personal development materials, but it is an entirely different concept, when we look at the percentage of people who apply that which they learn.
I hope to be able to emphasise, and encourage you to be in the percentage of people who action that which they learn.
This is what it's all about.
I realise this is where many people tend to fail, and some are notorious, and regular purchasers of programmes, that then collect dust on their shelves.
I hope to suitably motivate you on this point, to really act with the tools that you have at your disposal.
One of the secrets to having these programmes actually work for you is to ensure you are purchasing quality programmes in the first place.
In fact, whilst I like to purchase the programmes, so I can have them on my shelf, and listen to them again, and again, I realise that for some people, they may have a more limited budget, and therefore, I can recommend a good city library.
Any library that is worth its slat will have a personal development section, and in many cases, some libraries are affiliated with each other, and it is possible to arrange an inter library transfer, as the data bases of each library are available on their computerised cataloguing system.
This way, you are able to benefit from the programme, and write copious notes, and then borrow another one and so on.
Again, it's not ideal, as I like to have the item on my shelf, but the idea here is for you to be motivated, learn the material, and most importantly, apply it!
When the programme is a high quality product, that is written or spoken by someone with life experience, you are on a winner.
Think of it like politicians.
There are some politicians who have never worked in the real world a day in their lives.
They went from university into a political party. That does not count for experience.
Similarly with motivational products, listen to people who have had hard life experience.
They are the people who can advise you on what to do, and explain how they coped with their situation, and overcame many obstacles.
I'm sure you see the point.
Again, the better programmes will convey the true anguish, issues, and provide solutions to everyday problems that can be overcome, and often, very well.
The good programmes will have speakers that have been able to very successfully explain, in a very moving way, their experiences, and convey the meaning, and urgency to act to their listeners as well.
They have also succeeded in life, and it's always a benefit to learn from people who know, rather than people who have simply learnt something from theory.
On many occasions, people on one hand say they are positive, but end up effectively sabotaging themselves, as their mental thinking is not right.
An example of this might be people who think they are doing well, but if they don't have a plan, they effectively are planning to fail.
I realise this may sound clichéd, but it is very true.
A good programme is designed to help you see, mentally think, and act in the right way to get things done.
Examples of specific principles are detailed, and explained in the programme, like:
Personal Development
Your Health and well being
Setting Goals
Building and maintaining strong relationships.
Finding people to help you on your success journey
Ways to influence people
Managing your time
Financial planning
Skills at communication
Leadership, and
Leaving a legacy.
You see, it's all about also managing your life with all the ingredients.
Some people may tell you that you can succeed, but if they don't help you with the other ingredients, like the 'how' that is needed, in this example, then you'll end up with less than the full cake (metaphorically speaking).
In addition, a good programme details goal setting, which I also mention on my website at positive relaxation on the following page:
http://www.positive-relaxation.com/goalsettingrelax.html
The ideas explained here detail the issues of setting goals that are bold, and significant, but still reasonably achievable in the time frame listed.
It is a fine line to be bold, and still put a reasonable, yet achievable time line on.
It's also about your state of mind and belief, which is where much of this sits.
I totally urge you to look at this high quality personal development programmes regularly.
Think of the time you spend in the car, on the bus, the train.
That can be like a full 6 months at university, depending on the time you spend travelling.
I am fully aware that for some people, the idea of doing this can be intimidating, but realise, you will fell intense power and achievement to use and learn, and apply the methods in a good programme.
Anyone can do this, with a desire to succeed.
Do you have the desire?
Are you ready to put your foot out, and take the first step?
Have you got the vision to be bold?
I guarantee that if you do, you'll be well on your way to astounding success, and great achievements in your life.
Sometimes, the hardest step to take is the first one.
I am sure you'll do very well- just take the first step.
I am great full I did.
