What are you giving your attention to, your past
or your future, your problem or the solution?
I don't know about you but sometimes I feel
like a dog chasing its tail. I sometimes
go around and around chasing my past and my problem.
Busy chasing things that I can never catch or change.
Anxiously putting time and energy into something
that will never be positive or productive. And
it most certainly will not bring about lasting
change. I once heard Bishop Jakes say "Your past
is not holding you. You are holding your past."
Once again I ask what are you giving your
attention to? Race car drivers are taught to
look away from the wall when they spin out
control because they have a tendency to steer
the car in the direction they are giving their
attention to.
I am not saying that you should ignore your
past. You should study your past not stay in
it or chasing it. The victors in life are the
ones who figure out what went wrong and take
corrective action to make certain that
it doesn't happen again. Otherwise just
like the dog you will continue to chase
your tail.
It doesn't matter what you've gone through in
the past, it really doesn't matter how many
setbacks you've suffered or who has hurt you.
Today is new day you can stop chasing your
tail. Make yourself a better person by moving
in the direction of your divine vision.
Don't holdup your great future by
dwelling on the pains in your past. Stop going
around the same mountain, go northward to
the promises of your dreams.
