Being in Love Washington DC is so romantic. After I found the man of my dreams through an online website we dated for several months. Since we were both relatively new to the city we had to go through guidebooks to find fun and exciting places to go on a date.
After my online love proposed a year later I was in total shock. He always seemed like the type of man that would take things slowly. But when he told me that he never wanted to be without me the tears just streamed down my face like some schlocky, predictable romantic comedy. But my proposal came out of thin air. We were sitting on a bench on a gorgeous fall day next to the reflecting pool when he pulled out the ring.
We had decided that before we started a family we needed some alone time. We both work very hard and very long hours so by the time I get home I fall into bed before he gets home, and vice versa. But being in Love Washington DC is an experience a lot of married couples with no kids, or even singles in relationships should try, and that is to make your weekends as romantic and enjoyable as possible.
There are so many romantic spots in DC that people overlook because the walk by them every day and probably take them for granted. Since finding love is so difficult for so many people, once you have it, keep the spark going as long as you can.
Sitting on the mall at night with a picnic dinner while looking at the monuments is one of our favorite Sunday night "dates" in the warmer months. We also love to ice skate so in the winter we go to the National Gallery and skate surrounded by their beautiful sculpture garden. We find the Planetarium at the National Air and Space Museum romantic, as well as a trip to one of several museums, because we both love art. We always plan a romantic dinner out every other week - at a romantic restaurant, of course- and the weeks we don't go out one of us cooks a great dinner and then we watch a romantic movie before heading up to the bedroom. Our Love Washington DC excursions are always worth the trip and hopefully we'll find more romantic restaurants and places to go. We never want that spark to go away.
