Marketing: What Are Some Great Tips For My Work From Home Business Landing Pages?

(Thu May 19th, 2011, by Mike Gordon)

Landing pages are also known as "squeeze pages" or "lead capture pages". They are used to grow your email list for your home based business. This is where you will force all of your traffic to go to gather the email address of the visitors interested in your niche market. So how can you make your landing pages better?

1. You are asking for a visitors email address. This is something of value to you and to your visitor. Be prepared to offer something of value in return. It is actually the first true business that you and your guest will perform. You can offer a free report or a sample of the content that they may get in future emails from you. If you offer content insure that it is high quality, you only have one chance to make a great first impression.

2. Your landing page must look professional. You are trying to create the brand of being an expert in this niche market. It will be the first sales letter that your visitor will see from you. Creating the image through a soft sales approach will create the picture that you content is high quality and you do not have to be pushy to promote it.

3. Do not over load your landing page with links or information that is unnecessary. Stay on topic. The only exception should be links for disclosing disclaimers and term and conditions located at the bottom of the page. You are not offering choices here you merely want your visitor to fill out your opt-in with their name, phone number and email address.

4. Show how your freebie offer will benefit them. Do not focus on facts, the visitors want to know what is in it for them. Play to this to gain their interest. Do not over exaggerate or make overly aggressive claims. Give them something that they can believe in. Telling them that you a one push button that will make the overnight millionaires is unbelievable. Telling them that you can help them earn the extra income they might need to get their children through college is believable.

5. Have a strong call to action. Do not beg but merely make it appear that everyone who comes to your landing page fills out the opt-in box. It is merely a step in the process. You are beginning to teach your visitors how to take action with you. Do not make them believe that you have to force or trick people to sign up.

This is where you build trust. They are trusting you to provide value for you giving up their email address. Think about the times when you have opted-in to someone's list. That last second hesitation before you hit the "Join Now" button. Keep a swipe file of landing pages you like and don't like and why you feel that way about them. Learn from others what is good and what is not so good.

May I wish you great experience and not great luck? Great experience will always determine the outcome of any luck that you have.
