Marketing: Internet Marketing Untruths-What You Should Know About Them

(Mon May 16th, 2011, by Dario Montes de Oca)

While the more experienced marketers are less immune to these urban legends; it's the less experienced who can destroy their business if they get caught up in them. Here, today, we'll talk about 3 such internet marketing myths and how to avoid falling for them. We'll even show you how to get plenty of free backlinks.

One of the biggest Internet marketing myth is that you just need to build a website and you'll start seeing results. That is so untrue that it's almost funny, but it really isn't funny because it causes people to take the wrong path in their businesses. You have to create or use those vehicles that will put your website in front of the eyes of targeted traffic. No one will ever know your fabulous website even exists if you don't find a way to tell them about it. Building your site is just half the battle one, you will have to list it in the search engines and also focus on ranking it higher so that your target audience is able to view it. Yet another myth applicable to the offline business is that if the businesses you compete against are not online, then you don't really need to be online, either. If you're in that kind of spot, then simply get something going on the web, and then drive traffic to your website and begin building a list or getting leads. Every local business these days has some kind of web presence but you can stay ahead of the crowd by actually optimizing your site for the local keyword terms in the search engines. The best approach for local search is to combine as many search phrases as you can, and the reason for that is to make up for the lack of volume. The only way to go with search engine marketing is to be number one, and it is doable - it just depends on how badly you want it and what you're willing to do to get it. To get more from your SEO, use good backlink software.

The last area of discussion concerns PPC traffic, and the myth is that it's the easiest way to drive traffic. This is actually a myth because dabbling with PPC and actually finding success with it requires you to put in a lot of time, effort and above all, money. If you don't take the right steps, you will lose a lot of money with pay per click marketing, which is why you shouldn't try it out when you're in the beginning stage. Again, this is one of those areas that you can only warn people about. If you're new and want to do it; then learn first from someone reputable, and then take it easy until you feel comfortable about it.

The longer you stay in it, you will hear other internet marketing myths, to be sure. It is a good idea to join a reputable internet marketing forum because you can ask those with more experience. Keep learning and keep doing - always take action, and in time you'll be an old pro - like us. You can then promote all of your marketing with SEnuke X.
