Marketing: Doing Something Different In Your Business And Generating A Lead

Do you know how to alleviate some of your marketing pains? I say "pain" because marketing can be a pain in the butt if you don't know how to do it right. But if you're like most business owners, you're in a situation where you aren't seeing as much business that you would have hoped to seen, but instead you're receiving dismal results.

It's a well known idea that if you continue to do what you've been doing, you'll continue to receive the same results. So if you're marketing in a way that is giving you dismal results, it's time to revamp the campaign and try something new. It took me 3 years to fully understand what I'm telling you - so if you can really "get" what I'm saying, I'm willing to bet that you can reach success faster than I've achieve it.

So it's time to try something different. And what do I mean by something "different"? Well I'm referring to another form of marketing that can yield you far more results than from what you're doing now. You see right now you're probably using brand advertising to get your message out to the masses. But if you didn't already know, this strategy is incredibly ineffective.

How do you expect people to know what your business is all about if you're solely promoting your business name? Don't do this. Instead, leave brand advertising to the big companies who have millions to spend on advertising. Do you have millions to do brand advertising? You probably don't, so don't try to do this on the limited budget that you have.

Instead, focus on generating a lead, and following up on them with your marketing materials. How should you go about generating a lead? Well, the best thing that you can do is to offer something for free. Offer a free consultation, a free report, a free video, or even an MP3 download. Offering something for free is the best way to get prospects to respond to your ad and get them into your mailing list.

So what should you do after you have generated the lead? Well the first thing that you should do is to mail out the free offer that you promised them. In the same package, include your full sales presentation and give them multiple ways to order. Contact them 3 times in the first 30 days of meeting them, and after the 30 days are up, continue to mail them once a month for a whole year.

This way your prospect won't forget who you are, and you can be right in their minds when they're ready to purchase your product. This is marketing 101, but you probably have never heard of this strategy due to what you've been taught in business classes in college.

But don't be fooled. This is the best way of marketing your products and services, and you can also use the same technique to generate referrals from your existing customers.
