"The Truth about MLM"
When you got started with your MLM business, it was like opening a new present. One of the best compensation plans according to experts, ground breaking opportunity and a company that's been around for a while. You go to the weekly meeting where you can find people in your area that are excited and are on the same path to success. You treat this mlm opportunity like a real business because this is what going to change your life. This is that dream house that you wanted. This is that shiny new sports car. This is going to send your kids to college. You order some business cards, brochures, applications and the company DVD. You can't wait to show everyone this new product and mlm opportunity. Everyone can use this product, in fact everyone needs this product even if they're not interest in the opportunity.
I know that feeling. I was so excited that I would even go to sleep and dream about my mlm business. The commission that I made was proof that this thing works. I had a list of 143 people, held a couple of home meeting and got off to a great start.
After about six months my down line start decreasing. I couldn't figure out why they didn't have the same level of excitement I had. After showing this product to everyone that I knew, it was little bit harder trying to set up a home meeting with a stranger. Some people can be so negative when you're showing them something that could help them. Since I were showing less people, I started handing out dvd, buying mlm leads and advertising my mlm opportunity in magazines and in newsgroups. My goal was to make enough money in this mlm so that I can quit my job. In a year my commission increased but I was spending more money on advertising. It cost me more to advertise than what I was making in commission. To make matters worse, some guy join this same mlm a couple of month ago, that almost never attend the meetings and he's already making about 10,000 a month. It was good seeing someone make it in this mlm but with all the excitement and motivation, I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. I guess some how I fell into that 95% bracket.
After a few years I was about to call it quit until I ran across an article that exposed the TRUTH about mlm. It explains, that it doesn't matter how good of a salesman or motivational speaker you are, you cannot duplicate your talents and emotion into other people. MLM is all about marketing and promoting pursued by people that don't know how to market or promote. If there were a tool or some marketing program that can help do this and be duplicated 100%, building a huge down line would be a breeze. After reading these series of article they began to make a lot of since. I applied this knowledge and in three months I made about $60,000. That's more than I made in the three years combined.
What am I doing different now? Instead of trying to show 2 to 10 random stranger my mlm business (who don't have an interest in it), I put my product and mlm opportunity in front of hundred of people who are already interested in what I'm selling. Sort out the buyers and advertise freely over and over again. Anyone in any opportunity can do the same, no matter what business you're in.
