So, you've finally decided that you're tired of your 9-5, and you have seen all the infomercials, all the Google ads, all the ads in work from home business opportunity magazines, and you're fired up about working from home! Congratulations, you've taken the first steps necessary to freeing yourself of that plague that has been sucking the life force out of you for all these years- that J.O.B. (Joke Of a Boss), and you've opened your mind to thinking outside the box.
So you're driving up to the Work At Home O'Rama drive thru, and the girl in the window says "What'll it be hun, the Real Estate guru meal deal with extra cds, or the Online Business Mega-wealth value meal with extra Adwords?" The gears are churning in your head, because you didn't realize that thinking outside the box would involve so many uneducated decisions. "I'll take the Online Business Mega-wealth value meal, and double double the extra Adwords, would ya?" Good choice!
When deciding to take your income from your brick and mortor J.O.B. to the online realm, you have many business opportunity choices that can leave you awe founded trying to pick the right business for you. At first you're just trying to focus on a company that's not a scam, and once you blaze that trail and you have a selection of opportunities in front of you that you've decided on, how do you pick? What makes company X better than the next company Z? Given they all have solid foundations and are legitimate opportunities, how do you pick the one for you?
Training. Its all about the training. If you have never made a dime off the internet and don't claim to know a thing about marketing, you're deciding factor must be the training! This is so important, its almost more important than anything else at this point. You have an education that is going to be coming your way before you ever make your first sale online- that's not something you will seek out- its going to avail itself to you directly! You WILL learn something before you make your first sale, but its your choice in businesses that will decide whether you learned from the school of hard knocks, or if you learned from the yellow brick road to online success.
Bottom line- when you're in the market to search for a company/business opportunity, you need to be interviewing them. Most companies teach their members that when they are prospecting sales for new business partners, they are interviewing YOU, to decide if they want you in their company. Well, I understand their perspective, and one day so will you, but right now you need to be the one doing the interviewing, or be doing your research before you ever pick up the phone and call somebody about their business. It needs to be on the front of your mind- how will you help me to succeed? Are you going to charge me to learn? How do you teach? At some point down the road, will I be left on my own, or can I always get help from those above? What technology are you using in your teaching methods? Do I have to attend seminars? You get the idea.
Obviously, if your looking to make a living from an online business, there's only two things you have to have: a website that has something for sale, and traffic to that website! It's that simple. But its not easy. You will have to gain a crash course education in online marketing to get that life giving traffic to your site. There's a lot of different methods, some are free, some are not, and they all require effort on your part to implement. There is a learning curve involved here, so you must be aware that there are no shortcuts to success.
The upside of selecting a quality company or business opportunity to work with is that your chances of success are greatly enhanced, because they will take you by the hand and walk you thru each step of the way. They will show you exactly what has worked well for their business model, and you can learn to apply what has worked.
The downside of selecting a company that offers poor training is this- burnout! That's really bad. You'll get discouraged that you're not making any sales, and you'll feel like you don't really know what to do next, or why what you have been doing has not worked for you. You will fail, your company will not care, and now you believe that it's impossible to really make a living online. You'll turn back to your old job, and become close minded to ever attempting to "think outside the box" again, and you'll probably be working, making another man wealthy while you do all the work, for the rest of your life. Truly a sad outcome, all because you didn't emphasize the importance of proper training when you were on the hunt for that first online business.
Don't let this happen to you, and realize that yes, there really are people not only making enough money online to replace their previous "real" job's income, but some make even more than that. If you pick a good company, you can start slow and grow at your own pace. I encourage you to never give up on your dream of working from home, because the journey that will lead you to accomplishing that goal is a journey towards SUCCESS!
