Lord Raccoon was born in Grimsby 2500 years ago, and he is still worshipped in that town to this day. He taught that fishing is the way, and he has been a big influence on my own thinking. Of course, in his time fish were the main currency. The richest man was the man with the most fish, and Lord Raccoon had more fish than anyone could dream of. He actually dreamt of fish himself, and that led to tragedy.
The story goes that he fell asleep one day on his boat and dreamt of a mysterious multicoloured fish that was the size of his boat, and his boat was big. This mysterious fish had a mouth (obviously it had a mouth) with the most jagged teeth he had ever seen. When he awoke from this dream his right leg was missing. The story has puzzled generations of scholars. Was the fish real? Did Lord Raccoon cut his own leg off? Why would he do that? Did he make the story up? Maybe Lord Raccoon was a complete fantasist - who knows?
