A few decades ago, I learned to type on a manual typewriter. You set the tabs and even had to return the bar manually after each line was typed. Mistakes were fixed with whiteout. Then I had to learn to type on an up to date electric machine. Boy was that fun!! My fingers were so heavy I kept making line after line of of the same letter. On that old manual you had to hit the keys hard to make it work, but not on that new fancy electric machine. Next there were word processors, where you could see what you were typing and make corrections before they were typed to the page. I thought learning the process for a word processor was a little complicated until I bought a personal computer!!!! Now I have to deal with a MOUSE! Now that is not a small rodent that lives in the walls, but rather a small device that lets one navigate around the screen and do all kinds of neat things. (Anyway, that's what I have been told) Next you have to learn to surf. Now since I can't swim, that seemed to be a dumb thing for me to do. But come to find out, it has nothing to do with the tides or water at all. It is looking at different sites on the computer. Now don't use snail mail anymore, you have to email everyone. Getting those addresses right is quite a feat. I'm still trying to figure out how to keep an address list, do returns, and put things in the proper folders. Speaking of emails, next came SPAM. Now I thought spam was a lunch meat you used to make sandwiches, but now I know it is sending someone an email without being asked. I know I am getting SPAM because I keep getting e-mails that I have won millions and millions of dollars in lotteries I have not entered. (I checked and found these are not legal). Finally, I have discovered that most of the websites on the net are out to get you to buy things. So the BIG thing I have learned is always check these suckers out before giving them any money. I don't know about you, but I can afford to support all these jokers. If you see this, you will know that I was successful in getting this downloaded or uploaded or whatever I am suppose to do to get it so you can read it. Keep looking for the next trick or two I learn.
