Photography has come a long way since the 1920's. Today, anyone is capable of great photography and you do not need to be a professional to take great pictures. My equipment has been less than expensive or professional. I have used a 110, Polaroid One-Step in black and white and color and now, I have a Kodak Advantix. I can take the best pictures I have ever been able to take and even put them on my computer.
The Advantix is very small and will fit in a pocket or purse. There are three settings. The first setting, referred to as Classic, produces a 4" X 6" picture, good for single subjects, not groups.
The second setting, HDTV, produces a picture 4" X 7" and can be used for groups and scenic. This setting I have not used very much, just occasionally, and do not have a sample to demonstrate.
The third setting, Panoramic, will accommodate large groups and large scenic spans, for example; a mountain range or family reunion.
The camera film has three speeds available. ISO 100, 200, 400. The ISO or film speed limits the distance the flash will carry. I generally prefer the ISO 400 because it is a faster film, hence, it is easier to focus for clarity.
This camera has the ability to take pictures of the camera owner or user in the absence of other people. It is a 10 second delayed timer. This means you first determine your position and focus. Set the timer and take your position. Click and you have a picture of yourself.
Film is available for 15 pictures, 24 pictures or 36 pictures. Personally, I always liked the 15 picture film unless I was traveling. Then my preference would be 36 pictures. However, since I prefer the 400 speed film, 15 pictures is not available and so I must buy the 24 pictures film.
The Advantix takes a lithium battery which I believe I have only had to change once or twice in all the time I have owned the camera. It also has a tripod feature.
Another wonderful advantage of this wonderful camera is that you can have whatever pictures you like on any film put on a CD and load them into your computer for viewing or transfer to the internet. Walmart does a great job here.
So I am a believer of the Kodak Advantix camera. I will use this camera until I find something better. It suits my needs perfectly and you have to admit, the quality of the pictures leaves nothing to be desired.
