Making Primitive Snowballs
Materials:
Wax paper-
Styrofoam balls-
Joint compound-
Glitter glass-
Nutmeg or Cinnamon-
Candle scent-
Acrylic Paint Or colored stain
Mix the joint compound, a little candle scent (optional) A few drops of your acrylic paint, cinnamon or nutmeg to add grungy dirt flecks. Stir up the mixture. Roll your Styrofoam balls in the joint compound mixture and roll a lot for a nice coating. Now put it in a bowl of glitter glass and roll around, shake off excess easily. Lay them on a sheet of wax paper. It will take a 2-3 days for these to completely dry, so put your wax paper somewhere that will not get in your way. Turn the snowballs 1-2 times a day until they are dry, to help them dry faster.
Experiment with different colors of acrylic paints or stains. You can make them extremely primitive to really crisp white & elegant, depending your style choices. You can make small ones for the Christmas tree or large ones to give as gifts. Have fun~
