Sleep to sound of the waves, rise to a safe, clean, sunny beach, enjoy a totally relaxing day playing in the waves; later explore the historic town, literally at your doorstep, and dine in one of many great restaurants. This is just one of many possibilities for family fun on California beaches; there are dozens up and down the coast. Beaches to the south are home to some famous and fun piers. Beaches north have sand dunes, coves, and caves for all day exploring and photography. Throughout the coastline there are tide pools to explore; the little ones love this. Surfing, whale watching, fishing; you will find them all here. Campgrounds abound, each with activities particular to the area.

California cities have great scientific and cultural museums as well. Throughout the state, families can enjoy zoos, playgrounds, parks, and sports activities. Within each area, families can combine fun and learning by visiting locals celebrating our history and diversity.
