Gardening: Gazebos in the Garden

(Tue May 17th, 2011, by Laura Hartson)

if you have a large garden then you will want to make the most of it in the great weather we are having at the moment, but you don't want to get burnt when you are trying to enjoy your lunch. Temperatures in April have reached over thirty degrees, making it one of the hottest springs on record, and certain days have reached temperatures hotter than Barcelona and Istanbul. Not bad for a little island in the sea that is famous for the rain and cool temperatures! If you have little children you will also want an area in your garden where you can put the kids so their delicate skin is protected, so why not consider getting a gazebo?

A gazebo is very versatile and allows to have an outdoor space, even in the changeable UK weather. It's nice to have a space that you can sit under if it is threatening to rain, safe in the knowledge that you will stay dry.

Gazebos are quite easy to put up, and many of them have bendy poles that clip together, making them very easy to erect. The fabric then wraps round the frame, ensuring that it looks smart and protects you from a downpour.

The cheapest ones are around forty pounds, and the more top of the range options cost up to two hundred pounds.

Once you have paid for it you will want to make sure that it stays in top condition, so follow the instructions to make sure that you are keeping it in good condition. It's important that you make sure that it is dry before you put it away to prevent the fabric from deteriorating, and to stop the poles from rusting, if you ensure that you do this then you will find it lasts you for a long period of time, giving you shelter from the rain and shade from the sun, all year round. If necessary, take it down when the weather gets bad.

If you are buying a gazebo then make sure that it is protected by your Contents Insurance in case of theft or damage.
