Winning at blackjack
Yes you can win at blackjack and not just from being lucky. Blackjack has one of the lowest house
odds of any casino game; this means the player has a greater chance of winning at blackjack than
at most other games. The problem is people do not realize this and play blackjack blindly, which
turns the advantage back to the casino and not the player.
So how do you win at blackjack and keep the casino advantage to a minimum?
By going into the casino with a plan and knowing your basic blackjack strategy. Know when to hit,
when to stand, when to split, when to doubledown, and when to take insurance you can keep the
advantage on your side.
First plan your budget wisely and stick to it. How much are you willing to spend? How much you
will wager on each hand depends on if you want to play a lot of hands or if you want to increase
your money. Make these decisions before you go to play. Say you have decided to spend only $50.00
then depending on how you want to play (a lot of hands or increase money) will determine what
table you choose to sit at. If you wish to play a lot of hands then you will want to choose a
lower wage per hand table. No matter what table you choose it is important to keep to your
budget. Now let's say, you win $35.00, now your thinking ok I have $85.00 to play with. Do not
do this. Stick to the original $50.00. This way you will not over spend should you fall into a
losing streak.
Second, should you fall into a losing streak or lose a large bet DO NOT throw money away trying
to recoup this loss. This is good advice no matter what game you're playing but especially so in
blackjack. Remember your budget and NEVER try to recoup losses; it will always end up costing
you.
Third, know which variation rules the casino offers and use them to your advantage. An example
of what I mean is the surrender rule. The surrender rule allows a player to surrender their hand
and only lose half their wager. Most casinos do not offer this variation as it means less
advantage and money intake for them. So always be aware of the variations that the casino you're
playing at offers and use them.
Fourth, Bonus Rules When playing online there will be a wagering requirement for any bonus that
you may accept. Most online casinos restrict this on blackjack. Check with the casino your
signing up to before you sign up.
Last, Practice. Practice, practice, and practice some more. Although there is some luck involved
in blackjack it also takes skilled plays. By practicing you can develop the skill to play well,
to know when to stand, hit, split, double. These are all discussed in strategies and you can
download the free blackjack game to practice on. You will notice I did not mention card counting,
well with online blackjack card counting doesn't work. Also for the average player who wants to
go to the casino for a weekend get away unless you are really good at it card counting could get
you in serious trouble financially. Card counting takes a lot of practice and if you are easily
distracted wont work for you, so stick to the basic blackjack strategies and just have fun.
