The $50,000 Player's Championship is widely considered as the grand daddy of them all in Poker. If you are a fan of Poker, this event is surely something that you would never miss. On the completion of the fifth day of this event, Michael Mizrachi finally managed to win the WSOP bracelet. Before the event, many had written him off and doubted whether he would end up being one of those great talents never to win the bracelet. Of course he went on to prove his doubters wrong and will have his name engraved alongside Scotty Nguyen, Freddy Deeb, David Bach, and of course the great man Reese.

In fact, while the game was on, it never looked like he could win from a defect of 3-1 chip. As his nickname goes "The Grinder" was relentless and aggressive, and with a never-give-up attitude, he managed to defeat Vladimir Schmelev, who looked visibly frustrated at the final turn of events.

Mizrachi, in his post match interview commented that his slow play was the reason for this win as he believed it would get to his opponents head.

It was never easy for him at any stage. He managed to overcome the odds by defeating some wild card players who were very dangerous, which also included Robert, his elder brother. Robert is no stranger to winning a bracelet himself. About three seasons earlier, he got his name on it.

Despite taking a lot longer for someone considered a great talent, he did what very few have managed to achieve previously. An ecstatic Mizrachi had the following to say to the press:

"This was definitely worth the wait. It's one of the most prestigious events you can possibly win…especially with my brother in there. I put his chips to good use"

He is one player that most opponents would like to avoid in future. The future looks very bright for "The Grinder," and we look forward to seeing him grind his way through more championships.
