Family: Active family holidays

(Tue Sep 4th, 2007, by John Turner)

You need to keep your kids active on holiday but how you can do this going beyond the classic cricket bat or football? There are lots of travel games for kids online - if you need some novelty activities in your family holiday.

If your kids spend too much time on computer games or TV, encourage them to put away their games and turn off the TV. Be positive though when you motivate them to do something more active and give them plenty of positive feedback when they do well or you can see them trying to do their best.

There's plenty they can do outside and it doesn't matter if it's summer or winter as there are toys for snow and beach. You can even buy snow ball makers if you are looking for something different! If the weather's good, there's lots of activities that your kids can participate in. If it rains you can go to the nearby leisure centre for a swim. It's often worth asking along a few of the friends your kids have made on holiday.
