Health alert. A lot of oil change shops and vehicle owners do not know their vehicles have a Cabin Air Filter. Changing out the filter is very important. When driving your car a lot of harmful elements-mold spores, allergens, road dust , and so much more enters your automobile through the vent. When they enter your car, it becomes more concentrated than the outside air. That means, breathing all these harmful substances can endanger your health, as well as your passengers with asthma, allergies, or lung problems.
If you are concerned about your health, then it might be a good investment to purchase a Cabin Air Filter. It can be installed under the dash or in the outside air intake.
The Cabin Air Filter in the Chrysler Town and Country Van is located under the glove box. It is a tight fit, so it will take a little patients replacing it.
There is a plastic sliding mechanism located at the bottom. Slide it towards you, and pull down. Reach inside and grab the filter and pull down. If you never replaced this filter, you're in for a shock at all the bugs, dirt etc that comes out. The Bosch replacement number is C3872. There are other manufacturer's you can choose from at your local auto parts store. The average price for this type filter is approximately $30. The dealer is going to be much higher.
Once you have the old filter out, take the new on and make sure the airflow arrow is pointed towards the center of the auto. You may have to wiggle it a bit to get the filter to go up. .Reposition the little slide door and slide into place. Snap it in place to lock.
