An action-thriller that takes place in a worst case scenario of a deadly virus.

Contagion is an upcoming action-thriller film directed by Steven Soderbergh, and starring Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, Marion Cotillard, Laurence Fishburne, and Sanaa Lathan.[2] The film is set for release on October 21, 2011. This will be the first time that Damon, Paltrow and Law have been in a movie together since The Talented Mr. Ripley. This will also be Winslet's first film since she won an Oscar for The Reader.

Contagion follows the rapid progress of a lethal airborne virus that kills within days. As the fast-moving epidemic grows, the worldwide medical community races to find a cure and control the panic that spreads faster than the virus itself. At the same time, ordinary people struggle to survive in a society coming apart

Director Steven Soderbergh is on board for contagion, which makes me wonder, where's the pornstar or professional cage fighter in the cast? He's been casting these people constantly as of late, and damnit, I want more stupid casting decisions.

Writer Scott Burns has some solid work in his background, having written The Bourne Ultimatum (which we can all agree was equally good to the other Bourne films, since they were all the same) and he wrote another Soderbergh film, The Informant!

Soderbergh is a really good director, and while I think he's working on too many projects as of late, which about forty movies being released over the last two years, he still releases quality films everytime. Even the Ocean's films were entertaining, if a bit retarded. I see similar quality in Contagion. Plus, this cast is excellent

Illustrates the worst case scenario of a global viral pandemic from multiple points of view, as ordinary people become severely ill and must be cared for by their loved ones, and harried doctors struggle to contain the disease.

With this type of star power, Contagion has to make pretty good money. I see a good box office, and critics loving it.

You, on the other hand, will prove yourself to be a jackass and hate it.

And we will criticize you for it relentlessly.
