Although the pupils and teachers are often the first people thought of when considering the education process and how best to mark exams and quizzes, the needs and wants of a parent should not be overlooked. It is only natural that parents will want to know exactly how their kids are getting on what developments they are going through.
If a teacher has a lot of pupils under their control it can be difficult to provide detailed analysis and comments about each pupil but most parents will find this unacceptable. After all, they are only interested in their own son or daughter and it is natural they will want as detailed a report as possible. All parents want the best for their children and this is why they will quiz teachers about their behaviour and their development over the year.
When pressed, teachers may find it difficult to provide an accurate report of a child's progress but they can find assistance in using student response systems. Using these response systems for each pupil in a class can allow the school and teacher to create a file for each pupil marking their results of each test.
When it comes time for a parents evening, a school teacher can access these records on a laptop or perhaps even place them on an interactive whiteboard to discuss with the parent. This takes a lot of pressure off the teacher to provide detailed reports on each pupil but it should also satisfy each parent wanting a detailed examination of their child's progress.
The fact that each pupil can use a student response system device and have their personal scores marked is a great benefit for everyone in the education process and should provide a strong platform for future educational plans.
Although there needs to be an overall education or study plan for each pupil to follow, there can be scope for allowing pupils to work at their own pace. No two pupils are alike but there are likely to be clusters or groups of pupils that are working at similar levels. These groups could be classed together and given projects or work suitable to their understanding and of a required level to aid their development. Even in a busy school, there should be room to provide a focused and individual study plan for each pupil to allow them to get the very best out of the education process on an individual basis.
It is important to consider using modern education technology like student response systems as they can help all students at any level of learning to gain a better understanding of the subject they are studying and also help the teacher identify any problem areas or subjects that require further explanation.
