If you are getting started selling eBooks on eBay you may find that your eBook listing are getting taken down. This can be extremely frustrating especially when it seems there is no reason for your eBook to be taken down.

There are a few common reasons why eBay would take down your listing, make sure you are not making any of these common mistakes.

1.) Selling copyright material

This one is a no brainer. Make sure any eBook you sell you have the resell rights to or you have created it yourself. Also, some eBook the authors do not allow to be sold on auction sites like eBay.

2.) Not making it clear that you have the rights to sell the eBook.

Make sure that you write on your listing that you are the resell rights holder to the eBook or that you have created it yourself. Just by including a small note like this: "Note to eBay: I am the creater and resell rights holder to this eBay." can save you a lot of frustration.

3.) Wrong category

EBay will take down your eBook listing if you do not have your eBook listed in the Everything Else> Informational Products Category. This is a mistake I see a lot of new eBook sellers make.

4.) Keyword Title Violations

Using keyword for your title that are not related to your eBook will eventually get taken down by eBay. For example if you are selling a fitness eBook it is not OK to use the name of a well know diet plan.

5.) Misleading listing titles

If you are selling an eBook on fitness and you use the title "lose 100 pounds in one week!" That is obviously a misleading title and eBay will eventually take your listing down.

If your eBook is taken down and you have followed all my guidelines check with eBay BEFORE relisting your item. By avoiding these simple, but overlooked mistakes you can enjoy selling your eBooks on eBay without any problems.
