Optimize the wrong keywords and you will likely never see results.
Do keyword research first. This is a very important first step and should not be skipped. To do keyword research you need to visit a few sites, the first being:
http://www.goodkeywords.com (this is a free service that has an excellent keyword tool)
Once you have downloaded the software from this site enter generic keywords -- as an example "weight loss." By the end of this course you will be able to target HUGE keywords/phrases such as "weight loss," but for now let's start off with keywords with less competition such as weight loss picture, weight loss story, safe weight loss. These could be possible keywords we should target to begin with. Get more traffic with those keywords and then graduate to larger keywords. When we have a list of 3, 4 keywords go to Google and check out the competition to see exactly how hard it will be to optimize specific keywords. You will notice that the #1 website for "weight loss story" is:
Note: A quick definition of Page Rank is Google's way of giving a specific value to how popular your website is. A "vote" is simply when another website places a link pointed to your website." The more "votes" or links you have pointing to your website the higher the Page Rank. Page Rank is one of the many factors that Google takes into account when ranking websites. In order to see your own website's Page Rank, as well as others, you must have the Google's Toolbar installed on your computer. You can get that for free here:
http://toolbar.google.com. Once you have installed Google's Toolbar it will be located at the top of your browser. Seeing that the #1 website for this keyword only has a Page Rank of 4 is good. Remember, the only way to increase our website's Page Rank is by getting other websites to link to us. I will teach you how to get thousands of links pointing to your website in a matter of a few days.
Every website on the Internet is created using a programming languge called "html". In order to see the "html code" we must click "view" then "source" within our web browser. This will open up a text file for us to have a look at and see if this website is actually optimizing their "Onpage Optimization factors." There are 2 types of optimization methods, "Onpage and Offpage" Optimization. We will cover Offpage Optimization in later chapters. As we view the source file from this website, we need to look for a few things: Whether or not they are using <1>header tags and are placing the keywords "weight loss story" within those tags. Whether or not they are using their main keyword in the
tags of the website. In this case they are, which is one of the main reasons they are currently ranked highly for "weight loss story". Whether or not they have bolded, underlined, italicized the words "weight loss story" anywhere in the body of the webpage. In this case yes... now we know we should bold some of the keywords throughout our copy. The final things we want to note is whether or not they've placed the keyword once at the very beginning of the copy, and once at the very end of the copy. The main idea behind ranking well on Google is to analyze the top ranked websites to find out what they are doing and then do those things, BUT better. We will continue to go to the same process for the other 2 keywords we have found. It is best to analyze the top 5 ranking websites for each keyword. If the 5 top websites for a specific keyword have a Page Rank of 6 or higher, it's probably not best to shoot for that keyword until we get some initial traffic from the easier ranking keywords with less competition.
Note: (Each page of this eBook has illustrations instructing you step by step).
Some other very good resources for building keywords and finding niche phrases include the following:http://inventoryoverture.com (web-based version of goodkeywords.com (and it's free)http://www.keywordlocator.com (1 time cost $87)"How changing one single optimization factor can boost your rankings by over 350 positions!
Optimize our webpage -- Select a title for our website (page title should include ONLY our main keywords -- weight loss story, weight loss picture, safe weight loss. The least amount of words you can place in the TITLE, the more weight Google will give to each of the keywords and the higher you will rank. ALWAYS COMBINE KEYWORDS IN THE PAGE TITLE:
Google will ONLY see all 3 of our keywords when it looks at our title. Combining keywords in our title is a great way to boost the strength of each individual keyword. This will have an immediate impact on your ranking.
Add < h1 > header tags: The
header tag should be as far towards the top of the left hand side of the page as possible. When Google reads the page it views the text from the top left hand side, and then following down to the bottom right hand side of the page. Place header tag on the top left hand or top/middle portion of webpage. You can think of <1> as a title for whatever content you have on your webpage. NOTE: html code to create this title would look like this: "How changing 1 optimization factor on your onpage can boost your rankings by over 350 positions!" It is ideal if you can include ONLY your main keywords within the header tags Weight Loss Story would be a perfect header tag.
Add
header tags:
Create an
header tag as a sub heading for the webpage. Place your 2nd most important keyword in the header tag. The tag should be placed somewhere towards the top half of webpage. It's best to place primary keywords in tags and secondary keywords within tags. A good header tag for our example would be safe weight loss.
After doing this, we need to write the content of our webpage. Sprinkle the main keywords evenly throughout the copy, BUT don't overdo it. If you simply repeat keywords over and over -- "weight loss story, about weight loss story, that I have a weight loss story, Google will see this as search engine spam and you will not rank well. Mention each keyword in a natural way as you are writing, but be sure to include at least one of the keywords per 1-2 paragraphs, depending on how large your page is.
"The secret to getting listed in Google in under 24 hours guaranteed"
100% of people you run across in forums act like in order to get indexed by Google in 24 hours is some miricle feat that can only be accomplished by doing some "top secret" marketing tactic or advanced optimiziation strategy. This is just not true. Getting listed in Google in under a day is actually quite easy!
What NOT to do when trying to get indexed by Google. Never use Google submission form. How do you get your website indexed within 24 hours?
1. Go to Google and enter the broadest keywords you can think of that's related to your website -- our example will be "weight loss"
2. Browse through each website and pay particular attention to the Google Page Rank of the website.
Let's say that you create a brand new website -- www.bradcallenscoolwebsite.com -- if we go to Google and enter this site into the search box, we will see that no results are returned. Why? Our website is new and it is not in Google's Index. In order to rank in Google, you must first get into their index.
Google Page Rank is measured by the number of websites and the importance of those websites that link to your website. Try to find websites with a Page Rank of 5 or higher. Check to see if they have link pages. Usually you will see links from their index page that say "resources, links, related sites, etc. Check their website for thier contact info or info on getting a link from one of their high Page Rank websites. Send them an e-mail asking if they will link to your website in return for you linking back to their website. If you do this correctly and professionally, they will respond and will place a link on their website to yours. If you can get 1 PR6 website to link to you, then you will be in Google's index in under 24 hours.
If your website is brand new, pursuading a higher page website to link to you can be difficult, but there is another option -- purchasing links from high Page Rank websites. Listed are a few of the better ones I personally use on a regular basis:
http://www.textlinkbrokers.com,
http://www.linkadage.com, http://www.text-link-ads.com.
Many times you can purchase a 1 PR link for a month at $150. After the month is up there is no need to renew because you are already in Google's index -- by paying a 1 time fee you can be indexed by Google within 24 hours.
How to skyrocket your website to the top of Google with properly planned Onpage Optimization...
Making big changes on ranking is primarily done by what is called Offpage Optimization. Offpage Optimization is what really makes a HUGE difference in your site's ranking. Properly planned Offpage Optimization will make the difference between ranking #900 or #1 in Google. Offfpage Optimization consists of all the ranking factors that are NOT located on your webpage, that the search engines look at when ranking a website. These include:
Which website to link to
The number of websites linking to you
The Google PR of the website linking to you
The page title of the website linking to you
Number and times of links linking to the website that's linking to you
Whether or not websites linking to you are deemed by Google as an authority website
The IP Addresses of the websites linking to you
Plus some other things that we will get to later
To optimize our new website for the keyword "weight loss stories", we need to analyze the optimization techniques of the top 10 ranked websites for our keyword. Give Google what they want by making our Offpage Optimization as close to the high ranking websites as possible.
Change gears and analayze the top ranked website for the keyword "diet information" because this is a much more competitve keyword than "weight loss stories", and will help illustrate the kind of Offpage Optimization that you will need to rank high in the search engines.
We'll need to analyze several things about the #1 ranked website for the term "diet information" www.diet-i.com -- these things include:
Which websites link to them
Number of websites linking to them
Google PR of the website linking to them
Page title of website linking to them
Anchor text used in the link linking to them
Number of links on the website that is linking to them
Are websites linking to them deemed by Google as an authority website
IP Address of the websites linking to them
Go to Google and enter the following into the searchbox -- link: www.diet-i.com
This will bring back a list of websites pointing to www.diet-i.com; these are link partners; notice that Google says there are about 461 webpages linking to www.diet-i.com; now analyze the quality of these websites in great detail. The number of outbound links on this website linking to them; we will need to actually count the number of links on this page: http://healthyweightloss.com/resources.php -- Outbound links means links that are pointing to other websites, other than pages within www.healthyweightlossplans.com -- total number of outbound links is 26. This can be a time consuming processs, but in order to rank well, you must know EXACTLY how the top ranked websites are optimizing their offpage ranking factors, because that is what's getting them top rankings.
The good news is -- when I personally analyze websites I don't do this all manually; a software program called SEO Elite is used to do everything I just mentioned. It's not a free tool but it's worth the money for the time it can save you. Let me quickly show you how to use SEO Elite to optimize everything I taught above. It's NOT critical to have SEO Elite, but it sure saves a lot of time.
USING SEO ELITE TO AUTOMATE EVERYTHING:
Go to Google and enter the search term "diet information" -- you will see that the #1 ranked website is www.diet-i.com
Next open up SEO Elite -- select radio button 1, enter www.diet-i.com into the domain to analyze textbox, Click OK.
SEO Elite will analyze ALL Offpage ranking factors I mentioned above. These things include:
Which websites link to them; number of websites linking to them; Google PR of the websites linking to them; page title of websites linking to them; anchor text used in the link linking to them; number and type of links; number of outbound links; number of links on the website that is linking to them; whether or not the websites linking to them are deemed by Google as authority websites; IP Address of the websites linking to them.
SEO Elite will show you everything they are doing to rank well. It will make it extremely easy for you to duplicate on your own website; once SEO Elite is finished processing we can click over to the report view tab; the report view will show us an enormous amount of valuable information we will need to know to outrank this website. This eliminates the possibility of people controlling the search engines.

Before writing e-Book this, I went through all of my link pages and validated that all of my links were still linking back -- if they weren't I removed them. I can't stress enough the importance of monitoring link partners.
