Belgium Belgian beers allow that sugar can be added before fermentation. This permits them to produce a different type of beer. About 75% of the beers produced in Belgium are pilsners. Belgian beers are quite varied. Belgium is known for their unique ales, called table beers. Other types of unique beers are white, abbey, trapist and lambic, all with their own unique brewing method and flavor.
