Communication: The Last Pulses of Pakistan's Sovereignty

(Wed May 25th, 2011, by Mohammad Mansoor Ali Ansari)

The shock of Osama Bin Ladin's episode in Abottabad was extremely unbearable that almost pulled the spirit out of the body of the Pakistani nation. The nation was never expecting that our Armed Forces could be so blind and non reactive when any attack on our national security is executed by our enemies. After the strong reaction by the Parliament and apologies sought by the ISI Chief, the nation was then slowly recovering from the trauma that blasted their confidence on the abilities of the Armed forces. Then in the same month another tremor jolted the people of this country when the saw handful of armed terrorists destroying multimillion dollar aircrafts of Pakistan Navy and taking hold up for more than 16 hours. This incident collapsed the spirit of the nation to the stage of almost no recovery.

As a nation, Pakistani people always regarded their Armed forces with high hopes and aspirations. We had no doubt that our soldiers were best in their profession and can destroy enemy of any size and muscle without getting intimidated, but it is also a fact that since last few years there has been a mysterious attempt going on with unidentified hands trying to dismantle the confidence of the nation on the capabilities of our Armed forces. Talking with many ex and in service soldiers of the nation, it is perceived with utmost pain that Army high ups are not setting any laudable example for their juniors and for those who shed their blood on the forefront during the war on terror that has been taken on our lap by those irresponsible Generals headed by Ex Army Chief and self proclaimed President General Musharraf.

Due to lack of vision and lack of direction, our prosperous nation is now turning out to be a sand mountain. Yesterday, yet another shocking news was learned to further collapse the remaining confidence of the nation when few unidentified helicopters roamed on the skies of Muzaffarabad making joke of the abilities of our Air defense system that is turning out to be a porous net or may be a non existing shield. Though the Army's spokesman stated that they were Pakistani Choppers but the nation is not ready to accept that claim even if it is true.

When we look closely, we will find that periodically our nerves were tested by our enemies and before the attack that took the life Al Qaeda Chief Bin Laden, USA carefully judged the level of tolerance or level of reaction from Pakistani nation during Raymond Davis's episode. It was widely believed that if Raymond Davis was released the whole nation would take the streets and our opportunist leaders would run for their lives. But that never happened. The reaction of Pakistani people was mild and ignorable and to a great extent brought a sigh of relief to those who were expecting a mercurial revival of Pakistan's lost identity. Unfortunately the prestige of the nation took a quick nose dive after that episode.

Then that morning came that hammered the news of Osama's killing on Pakistani soil, this news fainted the whole Pakistani nation and thwarted the wall of confidence on Armed forces which was showing cracks after Raymond Davis's case. With all the explanations and all the twisted statements, the nation is never going to be satisfied and never going to be relieving the Armed forces and understandably spineless politicians from the allegation of totally bowing in front of United States of America. There is a very thin line left between our sovereignty and the declared and accepted slavery of once a powerful nation. It took almost a decade for us to completely bow our skulls in front of a Super Power that calculatedly judged our weaknesses and used our own people against us to make us look like a vacuumed sand pot. Our Politicians and our Army High ups were busy collecting and counting the dollars that were showered on to them and closed their eyes from the slipping prestige and honor that were the basis for any nation to stand head high. We salute those soldiers who lost their lives to defend the nation from the mad killers and terrorists that were nurtured and made monster for us by our own policy makers! We are stranded with feet locked deep inside the mud and finding no string to hold.

The fear that is now striking our hearts is about the security of our nuclear assets. The inability to handle the intruders of countable numbers is raising many questions in our minds. Our nation cannot afford to see our Security system fail miserably when it comes to protect our valuable Nuclear Assets. That could be a catastrophe that cannot be reverted. The time has come that our Rulers and our Army High ups must take the nation into confidence and should take visible actions that could revive our lost confidence on our Security Forces. The news is also pouring in that USA and its allies are documenting their plan to bring the matter of security of Pakistan's Nuclear Assets on the Unite Nations' Forum. If that happens, we should say goodbye to our sovereignty! Today neither the Armed forces nor the Political leadership is serious in saving the nation from complete collapse. People of Pakistan should understand now that the key for drastic change in the condition is only in their own hands.

In the midst of these tough times, the only hope left is of the Help from Allah SWT otherwise we are helplessly seeing a dead end ahead. The nation needs to unite at one point. We need to trust in our own abilities. We need to educate not only ourselves but the masses that we should never let our spineless leaders hit the final nail on the coffin of our sovereignty we need to stop their hands now. Just now!! From top to bottom there is needed a drastic change. There should be complete ban on extensions of Services Chiefs tenure of service, people with bad tags and have track record of looting the nation and swallowing the bank loans should be barred from participating in the elections. The most important thing to be introduced is to educate the females about religion too. The role of the Mosques should now be enhanced as a modern education hubs and community development institutions. Before the next elections, we should make our masses educated on war footings. This target can be achieved and enthusiastic people should come forward. Depending on mainstream political parties is now a complete waste. We need to build a trustworthy leadership within our lines and that has to be achieved with utmost sincerity and patience
