The world attention is fixated on the nuclear crisis in Japan that had recently destroyed lives of millions of people. Yet, we are forgetting another major environmental disaster- Oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.  Just looking through almost a year of recuperating, you could still determine how much damage was caused. Oil pollution is turning out to be one of the fastest growing mishaps in our environment today. Oil, that aids in running basically everything that we use today such as generating electricity. The green industry is suggesting a newer method of acquiring fuel that could prevent calamities brought forth by climate change and man's flukes. The refuse derived fuel process (RDF process) a technique that requires waste to generate sustainable power.

The green industry and private sectors that joins the cause in saving the environment from pollution came up with a method that could generate power from raw materials found in municipal sanitary landfills. The refuse derived fuel process us known for its carbon neutral effect that prevents deploying GHG's into the atmosphere. To prevent oil spills and nuclear disasters material recovery facilities are structured to house the RDF process. The government is eager to test the newest method in order to retrieve a cleaner, sustainable and efficient energy source.

The refuse derived fuel process takes part in creating a better society by diminishing pollution causing agents into the atmosphere. The RDF process utilizes waste as feedstock for energy conversion. This is achieved through the process of securing the quality of waste that is fed into the refuse derived fuel technology. Under the present conditions inside this machine, extreme heat and controlled amount of oxygen is applied to chemically alter the feedstock's components. Fuel that has once had a solid composition is then turned into liquid that would be considered as an environmental substitute for fossil fuel and coal. During the conversion, zero or negative emissions are dispersed into the atmosphere therefore; creating a carbon neutral effect.

Refuse derived fuel process is considered as a long term effect towards combating pollution and the effects of climate change. Knowing that the effects of this method could combat the changes that we see in our environment doesn't mean that we solely have to rely on it. Making a significant change in our lifestyle may be a huge step in saving the environment from depletion. This would ease the planets growing concerns and allow resources to flourish.
